Nobody builds a successful company all on their own; they need other people around them, and for one simple reason – no-one is a genius at everything! People only have a limited range of skills, and it’s unlikely that your skills are perfectly going to sync up with all that’s needed to build a business. So other people are important. However, not all the roles in your company are equally important. Some have the ability to make or break your venture, and these are the ones that you need to give the most attention to getting right. We take a look at four examples below.

The Expert
You’re going to be the person at the top, but you’re going to have a lot of fingers in a lot of different pies, and you might not be able to give as much attention as you’d like to your product, whatever that may be. As such, it’s important that there’s someone on the team who can be considered “the expert,” a person who knows your product or service inside out. They’ll know every small detail of what you’re offering, as well as having a broader understanding of the industry as a whole.
Marketing Genius
There’s not much using having an incredible product or service if no-one knows about it. The interest that you generate is just as important as the process of perfecting your offerings. But of course, this isn’t always as easy as you’d like it to be, even if you have a game-changing product. Because competition is so fierce, you’ll want to hire someone who knows how to get your company’s names in front of the right faces. It’s one of those things that you can’t pick up on the fly, because the rules regarding best practices are changing so often.
All Things Accounting
You’ll already know how important your finances are to your company. Unless you’re somehow working with an unlimited budget, you’ll need to keep an eye on each penny that you spend. A good accountant can be the difference between long-term financial health and facing unexpected difficulties early on. As such, it’s recommended that you work with an agency that specializes in accounting and finance staffing. They’ll help you to bring on board an employee who can keep your money matters under control.
Delivering Customer Service
Business would be so much more simple if you could just sell your service and be done with it. But that’s not how it works. People are going to have questions, they’ll need help, they’ll have complaints and problems that need to be addressed. In this day and age, customer service is king – no-one quickly forgets a company that they feel didn’t take their opinion seriously. As such, hiring a worker who understands the human factor and what exceptional customer service looks like is recommended.
We can’t say that success will be guaranteed just because you’ve brought on board the right people for the roles above, but you will find that it’s more straightforward!
