If you run a business, then one of the biggest things that you’re going to have to be focused on in order to maintain a successful business is being able to master the art of sales.

Many business owners really struggle with sales, not only from a strategic and practical point of view but also from a mindset point of view because they really struggle with understanding that sales is service and if you’re not able to sell to someone then you’re effectively depriving them of helping them as long as your product is there for a good reason.

So in this post we’re going to share with you a simple process for ongoing sales so that you can grow your business in the way that you want to and also be able to help people in a way that is going to benefit them.

Create high-value content without asking for anything:

One of the biggest mistakes that people make when it comes to sales is that they jump straight in and try to sell someone something without ever having built any kind of relationship with them and this is a tactic that is not only off putting for those on the receiving end, but it simply doesn’t work long term and is not a sustainable strategy for getting sales, so what you should be doing instead is creating content that is of a very high value that delivers a result for someone but without you ever asking them for anything in return because this is how you start to build trust and Influence. For example, you could  write an article about how to automate things like hubspot to linkedIn or how to create their website or anything else that is aligned with what you actually teach in your business.

Direct people to a landing page:

Now that you shared value with them you’re going to direct them to a landing page where you’re going to basically ask them for their email address in exchange for something of even more value, and at this stage is the only thing that you’re asking them for – you’re not asking them to hand over any money, to get on a call with you or to do anything of that nature – simply give their email address and you will be giving them something in return.

Offer them something for free:

Once they’re on your email list you’re going to give them again something for free, but that’s even more of a high value than the thing that you offered before, and this is going to perhaps take them to the next stage of their problem that you can solve for them, so don’t be afraid to give away too much for free because once people start to see the quality in the content that you’re delivering they will start to trust you more and more, and this leads them further down the sales funnel to becoming a customer.

Close the sale:

Now that you’ve hopefully built some kind of relationship with them you’re going to start offering things for sale – this can be through offering a quick call to speak with you and then closing them on a coaching package or a training program, or it can be through through smaller ticket items such as digital courses, work books or anything that you’re selling that you think would be a good fit for them.
