Open Door Policy
Your employees need to feel as though they can bring anything to your attention at any time. This will really benefit your businesses overall communication and it will also make you feel way more approachable. If you don’t feel as though your team feel comfortable coming to you with their issues then consider having a comment box. That way you can address the issues without your team having to worry about bringing the problem to your attention in person.
Have a Common Goal
If your team are working on a project with one another then this is great, but you do need to make sure that they all have a common goal. Instead of assigning each team member a specific task, tell them about the bigger picture and also let them know how their work contributes to a much bigger part of the puzzle. If your cubicles are set out so that everyone has their own space then this is great, but you do need to make it easy for them to talk with one another. If an employee has to walk across the entire office just to ask someone a question then this can be discouraging. If you want to solve this problem then consider having an open plan office instead. Everyone can still have their own space, but it also means that communication is always kept open.
