Beginner Tip/Advice into SEO
One big tip he’s giving is not to trust one time cost SEO solutions, as people often don’t have incentive months later to keep or maintain your Google rankings.
Pay for results and not for work done, because if you pay for work done, you’ll often end up with reports but not necessarily results. With results, the agency or team you hire will have to do everything in their power to help your business improve their keyword positions, otherwise you might just end up with a nice looking Microsoft Excel report.
Industries to Target/Cater Towards
SEO was once labelled as “free traffic” but times have changed. SEO is a near/long term investment into promoting your services, brand and content. It has a high ROI when done correctly, but their needs to be a proper game plan. All the traffic in the world won’t help a business that isn’t operating efficiently. If a business is not scalable and does not have a healthy profit margin it will eventually collapse on itself. This is why Search Engine Marketing professionals should target industries where leads are highly valued because the business owner knows the true value of a lead. Industries such as doctors, lawyers, dentists, plumbers, contractors, or anyone within a service area. Avoid restaurants or stationary businesses, although they can be lucrative for reputation management marketing.

If you are unsure of your worth, help others become more successful either through consultations or freebies such as online promotions on forums, social networks, etc. Then once you build up rapport, confidence and testimonials you can begin to charge for your newly acquired SEO talents.
