What You Must Do Before Launching Your New Venture

It’s no secret that the majority of startups fail. That’s a scary statistic, but it shouldn’t put you off starting your own small business. Like with most things in life, if you take the time to plan and prepare properly, your chances of success are much higher. A fatal mistake many new businesses fail to make is being smart about launching their new venture. Instead of waiting to launch, many startups rush and launch without taking the time to ensure that they’re properly prepared.

To give your startup the best chance of success here’s what you must do before you launch your new venture. (It’s worth waiting and taking the time to prepare – your business will thank you for it!)

Get your website up and running

The first – and most important thing – is to get your website up and running. The reason for this is because the most common way people will research your startup is online. If they Google your company name and nothing comes up, it’s going to put them off. This is simply because information about you is too hard to find. That’s why, before you launch, it’s crucial that you get your website up and running. If you want to ensure that your site is as professional as possible, not to mention easy to navigate and use, it’s worth getting some web design help. There are plenty of professional services online to choose from. It’s just a case of selecting the one that’s the best fit for what you need.

Put a social media plan in place

All startups should harness the power of social media. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram – the list could go on, are all incredibly useful marketing resources, and best of all, are free to use. Before you launch your new venture, it pays to put a social media plan in place. This should cover various social media platforms and should become active at least 14 days before your company launches. This will give you time to establish yourself, increase your followers and build up the hype surrounding your business launch. It will also give you the time to research the best and most effective hashtags to use, and when the times are when social media users are most active.

Work with bloggers

You may have noticed that a lot of larger brands use bloggers as a form of marketing their new products or services. Blog posts are an effective marketing method, and so, before your brand launches, it’s worth working with bloggers. This could be providing a selection of them with your product to use and review, or it could be having sponsored posts put together. If you’ve got a press release that announces your upcoming launch, it could be worth sharing them with them. Remember, the more coverage your business can get, the better.

Before launching your venture, take the time to prepare properly. The more preparation you do,  the higher your chances are of being successful. So whatever you do, don’t rush into launching. Take the time to ensure that you have got everything that you need in place.
