For over 20 years, I have had an obsession around how I can be the best that I can be. My life changed when one fateful day as I was 17, I happened to have stumbled upon a book that would forever change the course of my life. That book was Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins. Wow. What a book. The words on every page were popping off the page and into my cerebral cortex, and it was as if that book was written just for me.

For the first time I was told that I had the ability to create an amazing life. Growing up my parents were never reminding me of my potential. Rather my father, was constantly reminding me of how I was a collection of one mistake after another. I was considered the poor kid in all aspects, both financially and emotionally.

I was shy, had no confidence, was afraid to open my mouth and talk to people, so my ability to communicate was stifled to say the least. I was always afraid of coming across stupid, so I would hold back in conversation because i was so consumed in self deprecating thoughts.

Well once I began to read that book, it forever changed the course of my life. I began a quest of self discovery that lead me to some of the most inspiring thought leaders in the field of personal growth. Greats like Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, Nathaniel Brandon, Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Deepak Chopra. All of these people had one thing in common – they deeply inspired me to stretch and to challenge myself to levels I never even considered before. As a result of changing my mental software so to speak, the hardware, called my Brain was processing at higher levels. I didnt allow the mental viruses to slow me down.

From my early twenties I began to challenge myself on a consistent basis. I am not here to put a spotlight on my life, but rather be a light for others and be a reminder that you dont have to settle for a good life. You can strive for an amazing life. As an Executive coach for the past 16 years, my job is to stretch, challenge and intentionally induce discomfort in my clients, because after all the only way we will grow is by pushing ourselves along the outer fringes of our comfort zone.

So the one thing that I would recommend to you the reader right now is to look at all aspects of your life and decide, to consistently and gradually grow in all areas of your life. Im here to tell you that nothing feels as good as profound progress in ones life, not just one area, but all areas. When you focus on this, when you decide that this is your duty, that this is your obligation, then and only then will you realize that nothing outside of you has the power to hold you back. Nothing and no one except you has the power to stop you. You and only you have been give that right.

I am an author of two books, I play Cello, I play Piano, I play Pipe Organ, I’ve been a Chiropractor for 14 years, I’ve owned Franchies, I’ve played for Mother Theresa, all of this is cool to share. But the fact is that this is my past, and its time for me to not dwell on the celebrations for too long. The key to success is to stay hungry when you are winning. Many people start to hold back when they have success. They think its time for them to slow down. Thats not the point. You must focus on consistently growing without the attitude that you’ve created enough. The only way to assure Success and happiness in your life is to consistently grow in al aspects of your life.

You are not here to be comfortable. You are here to grow. Growth requires an understanding that you will not be comfortable. Embrace being comfortable being uncomfortable, and do not celebrate your wins, supress the urge to celebrate, because that can be as detrimental to your momentum. Momentum is everything. The way to create momentum is to keep the pace no matter what shows up. No matter if you are bringing into your life huge wins, or devastating losses. Stay the course, be consistent, and detach emotionally from the day to day activity.

Remember to have long term focus as you are doing the task before you. Create a vision for your life that is unattached to your past. This is the only way to recreate your life.
